Missha M Perfect Cover Serum BB Cream in 13: swatches & review
Hello and welcome to another makeup review. This time I’ll be reviewing Missha’s new(ish) M Perfect Cover Serum BB Cream in the shade 13, the lightest shade. This BB cream retails for less than $20 in the U.S., making it an affordable option.
The shade range is very poor, with only 10 shades (although still slightly better than the classic Missha BB cream in the red tube.)
Here are my swatches of the Missha M Perfect Cover Serum BB Cream in 13:
Unlike Missha’s classic BB cream in the red tube, this formula is free from artificial fragrance, parabens, and mineral oil. The formula contains beneficial natural ingredients such as plant extracts that nourish the skin as you wear the BB cream.
The tube looks luxurious and is pleasant to hold. The formula goes on and blends in easily, with very little streaking when applied with my Rare Beauty foundation brush. The coverage is about medium, and it doesn’t look cake-y or heavy at all, even when applied generously. The formula is also very lightweight.
Shade 13 is an acceptable match for my skintone. I can’t help but feel that it’s slightly too pink; however, once applied, it is virtually undetectable on my skin.
It’s worth noting that despite the lack of artificial fragrance, this BB cream nonetheless has a strong scent. This is due to the presence of several essential oils in the formula, including but not limited to bergamot oil and lavender oil.
Essential oils can be very sensitizing, so it would have been better if these ingredients had been omitted. However, for me personally, the BB cream does not irritate my skin.
The BB cream evens out my skin nicely, covering up my redness and skin imperfections. Despite the strong initial scent, the product doesn’t have much of a smell after it’s been on for a short time.
PROS:
• beneficial skincare ingredients
• inexpensive
• nice tube
• lightweight texture
CONS:
• strongly scented / contains essential oils
• doesn’t have SPF like the classic Missha BB cream (although I always apply a separate sunscreen anyway)
OVERALL: 8/10
